Mason RDA review

Vapergate has launched their newest RDA, the Mason. Banzai Vapors is here to help give you the ins and outs of this cloud chucking atty. If you're not familiar with Vapergate, they are the ones behind the wildly popular Alliance RDA.

*For this review we'll be discussing the 24mm version and Milk Plus was the E-Liquid I used to vape.

First let's see what you get in the box:

• 24mm stainless steel deck
• Square insulated T post
• Traditional three post (included in the spare parts bag)
• Unique heat sink top cap
• Wide bore drip tip
• Sample pack of Bob Wire (by Vapergate)
• Sample pack of Cotton Bacon's Bacon Bits (by Wick N Vape)
• Bag of spare parts (O-Rings, screws, screwdriver)

Starting out with the deck, the first thing I noticed was how deep it is. You'll have plenty of room for your build and tons of space for cotton. I actually managed to drip an entire droppers worth of e-liquid onto our build! The device comes setup as a four post, but you can remove the T post and quickly switch to a more standard three post setup, if that's your preference. 

Vapergate has stated that they wanted this RDA to be less flashy and get back to the basics of how an RDA functions. That's not to say that this thing doesn't have bells and whistles, they're just much more straightforward. Check out the image below to see the two slots (where you can see the coil and cotton) for airflow. You can spin the top cap to adjust the airflow to your hearts content due to the three tiered control ring. It's really not that groundbreaking, but it is a nice way to adjust the airflow to your exact preference.

There are a few other neat things about this RDA. Because of the extended 510 connection, you can use this atty on any device, even hybrids, which is great. It can be a pain when you're really excited about a new RDA (or any new device, really) only to find out that it's not compatible with your current setup. You're also given a wide bore drip tip that you can swap to, if the standard one it comes with isn't your thing. Add the fact that you get some wire and cotton to get started and this device really has everything you need to get dripping.

One of the things I liked best about the Mason is the overall look and construction. From the neat logo, to the brick themed top cap, this thing looks great. You can opt for the classic stainless steel or the sleek all black version, both look fantastic. The quality of build is pretty apparent when you handle it and all the moving parts have just the right amount of resistance to them. It's not particularly surprising how much quality this device has-since Vapergate's Alliance RDA is top notch-but it's nice to see nonetheless.

The only real downside to this atomizer is that it's not setup to have a single coil build. This is because the airflow chambers are mirrored due to the nature of the airflow control ring. That shouldn't really be an issue for most people, but it's something to be aware of.

 

By now you're probably asking how the flavor is. That, or you've already stopped reading and just bought one. Well, all of us here at Banzai are very happy to tell you the flavor is all there. Madi was using her usual Fairies & Cream and was excited that she could taste all of the berry and creamy goodness. (For reference; Madi was using her Wismec RX200 mod at 125 watts at a .14 ohm build)
